‘A man travels the world over in search of what he needs and returns home to find it.’ ~GEORGE MOORE

I spent my last few days of Ramadhan and first few days of Hari Raya in a big country that BANS Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Blogger, you name it, they block it.

I brought my laptop for my travel and found myself at lost as many of my daily reading materials are not accessible (you’d be surprised of how many good errr, yoga blogs are hosted at Blogspot). Even Google search for nearest H&M yoga studios turn up in strange Chinese characters..

Everytime I go to China, I am always humbled by how I am just a percentage of tiny drop of water in the ocean that speak and understand English. And everytime I go to this part of China, I am always blown away by how amazing are their city planning and architecture!

If you think Kuala Lumpur or even New York City has scenic skyline,
wait ’til you see Shanghai.
I didn’t want to blink an eye!

See that really tall building with a hole at the top middle?

That is Shanghai’s World Trade Centre and you can actually have dinner on the top floor at Park Hyatt at 91st Floor.

From bottom to 91st floor, the elevator took less than 10 seconds

Thank Manduka for their SuperLite Travel Mat that became my loyal companion for my holiday (my idea of holiday is when, I don’t have to teach yoga in the morning so I can practice yoga in the morning!)

I felt pretty strong during my travel so to Mysore during very early hours
(it was 6.15am in this photo!) I went.

I highly recommend practicing with Rob Lucas at his Red Door Yoga if anybody’s visiting Shanghai. Yes, Ashtanga Mysore is offered every morning!

China’s version of YouTube, of Rob Lucas effortlessly demonstrating an Ashtanga ‘vinyasa’

I am just so glad to be back in KL now, enjoying the freedom of Internet and outlets of spicy food here and have also managed to drive down south to visit my only living grandparent (whom I am his eldest grandchild).

No thanks to his other grandchildren, he became fond of my iPhone..

No tall buildings and fancy travels can beat hugging your loved ones,
seeking their forgiveness and seeing them so happy knowing you travel so far just to see them.

Reminds me of what I read at 87th floor of Shanghai’s Park Hyatt..

Hope your Eid Ul-Fitr was as productive too.
Have a blessed rest of the celebration of victory!

Can’t wait to see you again at Upward again next week.
Love and light.

I accept helpful (yet unnecessary..) material possessions.

Joining my matte black Batmobile and BlackPRO mat,
I finally succumbed and joined the dark side.

Manduka Monday: I am the master of my own body when I am on my black mat.

In case it wasn’t that obvious (in the previous post)..
someone you know is the first Malaysian to be the international ambassador for Manduka

I was on Manduka BlackPRO by Lululemon

The endorsement offer came mid February this year but I thought I should wait until Upward opens before I announce it here. It is not updated in Manduka’s website yet but I just can’t contain the cat in the bag anymore.

I am beyond proud and honoured to be representing Manduka
yet so small and so humbled to be in the same league with Kino Macgregor, Natasha Rizopoulos, Kathryn Budig, Simon Park, Twee Merrigan and my many other yoga inspirations.

I am counting my blessing, allowing them to keep coming and visualizing what the future and Manduka have for me and my yoga journey.

To a flying Monday and new week ahead!

My offering and ‘doa’ every morning and everyday to everyone who drops by my humble little practice space.

A segment of my office at Upward

Your time, interest, warmth and exchange of breaths make me smile and look forward to sharing and giving more and more.

.   .   .   .

Ask A-N-Y yoga teachers and they’ll provide you the same answer, “Once you’re tried Black(PRO mat), you’ll never go back.”

To elevate your yoga practice, we provide complimentary use of Manduka BlackPRO Mats, cork blocks and 8′ yoga straps at Upward.

Should you wish you bring home your Manduka experience, as you can see in my office - we do sell Manduka BlackPRO Mats (RM399), eQua Towel Mats (RM189), cork blocks (RM89) and organic mat wash (RM39) at Upward.

Love and blessed weekend ahead.
